Mindful leadership goes beyond just adding mindfulness practices or meditation to your daily activities. Mindful leadership is attempting to quiet the ‘monkey chatter’ so we can attain better clarity and focus. By quieting that internal dialogue we are better able to influence our thoughts, emotions and decisions. To be a great leader requires an understanding of self, not just at a conscious level, but also trying to understand our subconscious triggers as well.  


Mindful leadership examines mind, body and spirit to try and achieve optimal performance and wellbeing. What effect does having a doughnut everyday have on my mood? What happens to my resilience when I’m not getting enough exercise? How do I feel when I am not connected to my higher purpose? Leadership goes beyond just the office, it’s how we show up in all areas of our lives, so knowing these things matter.


Before we can lead others, we have to master leadership of self; mindful leadership is the place to start.

You don’t have to be the CEO of a company to be a leader. Leadership is not a title or position, it's a way of showing up in the world. There are so many leadership roles in our society; entrepreneurs, stay at home mum’s, executives, volunteers or just an average worker. Mindful leadership is for everyone!


Mindfulness is just bringing more moment-to-moment awareness into your day. It’s focusing on the present moment rather than worrying about things that have happened in the past or being anxious about what may happen in the future. Mindfulness is being fully immersed in one activity rather than trying to juggle multiple things at once (and usually not doing any of them particularly well!).
